West Bengal is poised to take a significant step in the healthcare sector. The Central Government's ambitious 'Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana' (PM-JAY) will soon be implemented in the state. With this, West Bengal will become the 36th state in the country to adopt this health scheme.

An official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the actual implementation of the scheme will be signed tomorrow between the National Health Authority (NHA) and the West Bengal government. Following this agreement, lakhs of families in the state will gain access to free and cashless medical treatment.

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda will preside over the signing ceremony. West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari will also attend the event as a special guest.
