Ahead of the second and final phase of voting for the West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, the Election Commission has implemented stringent measures to ensure a peaceful and impartial election.

The Commission has appointed 11 new observers in the state, bringing the total number of observers to 51. These observers have been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing security arrangements and ensuring that the voting process proceeds smoothly.

As part of the security preparations, polling-related infrastructure in the areas of Arambagh, Bongaon, Barrackpore, and Sandeshkhali was also inspected. The State Chief Electoral Officer, Manoj Kumar Agarwal, along with Special Observer Subrata Gupta and Special Police Observer N.K. Mishra, were present during this inspection.

The Election Commission has affirmed that all necessary security and administrative arrangements are being put in place to ensure that the voting scheduled for April 29 is conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner.
