Uproar continues in Lok Sabha; discussion on 'Public Examinations...

The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Monday due to heavy opposition protests. After being adjourned thrice earlier, the House resumed at 5 pm when Presiding Officer Krishna Prasad Tennety resumed proceedings, but opposition members started creating ruckus. Tennety appealed to the members to participate in the discussion on the 'Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Conduct) Amendment Bill, 2026'.

The presiding officer noted that this bill is related to the future of the youth of the country. He observed that the opposition party did not want to discuss this bill or the future of the youth and said that if they did not want to discuss it, the proceedings would be adjourned for the day.

Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that despite the importance of the bill, the Congress party is deliberately creating obstacles; he insisted that everyone should participate in this discussion.

Earlier, after being adjourned twice, the Lok Sabha resumed its proceedings at 2 pm; however, due to uproar and sloganeering, it could not proceed smoothly, forcing Speaker Om Birla to adjourn the House till 5 pm.
