Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda reviewed the preparations for the 'NEET-PG' 2026 exam. A detailed discussion was held in the meeting held yesterday regarding the smooth, safe and transparent conduct of this exam using advanced technology. This exam will be held on the 30th of this month.

Nadda reviewed the preparations of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), technology partners and other entities involved in conducting the examination. He was briefed on the examination planning, measures taken for the convenience of candidates, security arrangements and technology-based initiatives launched for NEET-PG 2026.

Nadda stressed that all efforts should be made to ensure that the examination is fair, transparent and candidate-friendly by adhering to the highest standards of integrity and security. He advised candidates to ignore rumours and rely only on official instructions issued by NBEMS and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

He said that the exam question paper is finalized through a highly secure, encrypted and time-bound process before the exam begins; this includes multiple layers of technical and operational security to maintain confidentiality until the scheduled time.

Nadda also reviewed the extensive security arrangements made for the examination. He also directed that all the concerned institutions should maintain good coordination to ensure that every candidate can appear for the examination smoothly, safely and without any hassle.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a total of 2,73,183 candidates have registered for NEET-PG 2026, which is an increase of over 12.5 percent over the previous year. The exam will be conducted in a single shift across around 340 cities and over 1,300 exam centres.
