Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the revered Shri Ambabai Mahalakshmi Shaktipeeth in Kolhapur today, accompanied by his family, to offer prayers. Before inaugurating the foundation stone for the temple's development project, he and his wife, Sonal Shah, paid their respects to the deity.

Union Minister Amit Shah is known for his deep reverence for this temple, which is a significant pilgrimage site in South India and one of the sacred 'Shaktipeeths' (specifically, one of the 'three-and-a-half' Shaktipeeths). Upon his arrival, he inspected the ongoing development work within the temple complex and took note of the newly installed golden *Kalash* (pinnacle). He also inquired about the details regarding the temple's renovation and beautification.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Public Health Minister and Kolhapur Guardian Minister Prakash Abitkar, Minister of Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant (Dada) Patil, Minister Ashish Shelar, and other ministers were present on the occasion.

District Collector and Chairman of the Western Maharashtra Devasthan Management Committee, Dr. Vijay Rathod, welcomed him by presenting an image of Shri Ambabai Mahalakshmi, a *shawl*, and a coconut (*shriphal*).
