US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that the United States and Israel had agreed to hold off planned strikes on Iran following a request from Tehran and other countries in the region, with the condition that a deal is reached quickly.

In a post on the social platform Truth, Trump said, “The USA is locked and loaded and ready to go against the Islamic Republic of Iran, at levels of Military Terror, Strength, and Power not seen since World War II.”

He added that despite the military readiness, the US had been asked by Iran and other Middle Eastern countries to delay any attack.

“Based on this request, I have agreed... to cancel the attack, subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL,” Trump said. He further stated that Israel had joined the commitment to hold off the planned action.
