Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar has now firmly stood by the students who are on hunger strike and protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against the NEET exam paper leak. Today, he personally visited the protest site and met the students in person.

Important points from Sharad Pawar's statement:

Questioning of injured students: Sharad Pawar had a detailed discussion with the students sitting on hunger strike at Jantar Mantar and learned about their demands. He also questioned the students who were injured during the police action yesterday.

"Repression is unbecoming": Expressing strong displeasure over the use of force by the police, Pawar said, "The way the police treated the students who were fighting for their just demands is completely unbecoming of our democratic values."

Direct warning to the government: Reminding that the Indian Constitution grants rights to every citizen, Pawar told the government, "Rather than suppressing those who are peacefully protesting, the government should sensitively consider their demands and take appropriate action."

This student movement has gained great political strength as prominent opposition leaders have been consistently reaching Jantar Mantar!
