Union Ministers and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have criticized Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi for his remarks regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah concerning alleged police action during student protests.

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan, alias Lallan Singh, alleged that the language used by Rahul Gandhi in the House was inappropriate for parliamentary proceedings. Speaking within the Parliament complex, he noted that such behavior undermines the dignity of the House.

Professor S.P. Singh Baghel remarked that Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has failed to uphold the dignity of his constitutional office. Speaking to All India Radio, he clarified that no minister ever issues orders for a lathi-charge. While welcoming the passage of the 'Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026' in the Lok Sabha, he stated that the bill contains stringent provisions to prevent question paper leaks and ensure greater transparency in public examinations.

Union Minister Harsh Malhotra demanded that Rahul Gandhi apologize for the allegedly derogatory remarks made against the Union Home Minister. Speaking to All India Radio, he stated that Gandhi deliberately uses unparliamentary language in the House.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said that while Rahul Gandhi has every right to speak in the interest of students, he should not have leveled baseless allegations against the Union Home Minister.

BJP leader Jagdambika Pal accused Rahul Gandhi of violating parliamentary rules by making baseless allegations against the Union Home Minister without any factual basis. Speaking to All India Radio, Pal remarked that instead of speaking on the bill related to examinations, Gandhi was making unfounded accusations.
