The counting of votes for the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections will commence tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM. To facilitate this process, 62 counting centers have been established across the state. To ensure that the vote-counting process is conducted in a transparent and smooth manner, 4,624 micro-observers have been deployed alongside 10,545 personnel. To oversee the entire process, one Counting Observer has been appointed for each Assembly constituency—bringing the total number of observers on duty to 234.

From a security perspective, and to prevent any potential irregularities, all personnel have been issued QR code-based photo identity cards. A security cordon has been established within a 100-meter radius of the counting centers, with the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and the State Police deployed in this zone. Furthermore, to further reinforce the security arrangements, 65 companies of the CAPF have been deployed.

A total of 234 EVM counting halls have been set up for the counting of votes, while an additional 240 halls have been designated for the counting of postal ballots and ETPBs. This entire process will be conducted under the guidance of the Returning Officers, who will be assisted by Assistant Returning Officers.

The vote-counting process will begin at 8:00 AM with the counting of postal ballots, followed by the counting of votes from the EVMs, which will commence at 8:30 AM.
