Protesting students in Jharkhand have accused the state government of spreading false information over their demands regarding alleged irregularities in recruitment exams. The allegations come just hours after a government committee announced that 98 percent of the protesters' demands had been accepted.

The protesters said that the government has agreed to cancel only three of the 13 controversial competitive exams. They also appealed to political parties and the general public to support their ongoing protest.

A student leader also criticised the government's insistence on a CID probe; he noted that the agency is known for 'suppressing cases'.

The protesters expressed their firm determination not to allow anti-social elements to disrupt their protest and reiterated that their protest will continue peacefully and democratically.
