High-tech surveillance using drones equipped with 'thermal imaging' technology has been initiated in the Bastar Forest Division to protect dense forests and wildlife. This technology enables the monitoring of movements even in the dark of night, helps curb illegal logging and poaching, and allows for the precise location of unidentified wildlife based on their footprints.

Equipped with 'thermal imaging' technology, these drones can easily detect animals or suspicious individuals—even in pitch darkness—by identifying their body heat.

Following the discovery of footprints belonging to an unidentified, ferocious wild animal in the Machkot and Bilori forests, the Forest Department deployed these drones for security and search operations. These drones are proving crucial in effectively controlling the activities of anti-social elements involved in timber smuggling, illegal logging, and poaching within the forest.
