Spectacular Performance by Indian Archers in the World Cup

Recurve archer Simranjeet Kaur and compound archer Sahil Jadhav have kept their medal hopes alive on the strength of their outstanding performances in their very first Archery World Cup appearance. Simranjeet, a team bronze medalist at the Asian Games, has successfully advanced to the semifinals of the second stage of the World Cup. The 27-year-old Simranjeet defeated her opponent from Chinese Taipei in straight sets (6-0) and is now just one victory away from winning the first World Cup medal of her career. In the semifinals, she will face the challenge of South Korea's Kang Chae-young, the world's top-ranked archer.

In the men's category, Sahil has also stormed into the semifinals, thereby keeping his medal aspirations intact. The 25-year-old Sahil secured his spot in the men's compound semifinals by defeating Austria's Nico Wiener. Now just one win away from a World Cup medal, Sahil will face France's Nicolas Girard in the semifinals.
