External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is currently on an official visit to Trinidad and Tobago. During this visit, several significant agreements have been finalized with the aim of further strengthening bilateral relations between India and Trinidad and Tobago. Additionally, a consensus has been reached between the two nations regarding boosting the tourism sector and fostering cooperation in the field of energy security. Agreements have also been concluded for the implementation of 'Quick Impact Projects' (initiatives for immediate public benefit), as well as for the establishment of an 'Ayurveda Chair' to facilitate the exchange of traditional knowledge in the healthcare sector.

Earlier, upon his arrival in Trinidad and Tobago, he was accorded a very warm welcome by the country's Foreign Minister, Shawn Sobers. During the visit, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar participated in the flag-hoisting ceremony of Trinidad and Tobago and paid his respects to the nation. On this occasion, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar lauded the relations shared with India.

Furthermore, External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar met with the President of the Senate, Wade Mark, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Jagdeo Singh; during these meetings, discussions were held on parliamentary cooperation and various issues pertinent to the bilateral interests of both nations.
