The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has imposed new restrictions as the water storage in the dams that supply water to Mumbai is rapidly decreasing.

Starting today, water supply to new constructions and swimming pools will be temporarily cut off. A 20 percent water cut has also been implemented for industrial and commercial use.

The administration has informed that currently only about 10 percent of the water storage is left in the dams that supply water to Mumbai.

The Municipal Corporation has also warned that strict action will be taken if drinking water is misused or wasted.

Considering the water crisis, the administration has appealed to citizens to use water sparingly.
