Registration for the first round of NEET UG Counseling 2026 begins...

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will start the registration process for the first round of NEET UG Counselling 2026 from today. As per the official schedule, registration for the first round will be open from today till 3 pm on August 12; however, the facility to pay the fee will be available till 6 pm on August 12.

Before the registration started, the concerned institutions verified the provisional seat matrix yesterday. Candidates can submit their choices from yesterday till August 13. The facility to submit choices will close at 11 am on August 13. The seat allotment process for the first round will be conducted from August 13 to August 16 and the results will be declared on August 17. Candidates who are allotted seats will have to report to the concerned institutions between August 18 and August 22. The institutions will verify the candidates' details on August 23.

Before the commencement of the counselling process, the Ministry of Health released step-by-step guidance videos (tutorial videos) to help candidates understand the process of registration, choice-filling and seat allotment on the MCC portal. The objective of these videos is to guide candidates by explaining the counselling process in a simple and student-friendly manner. It includes detailed procedures regarding registration, payment of fees and choice-filling, which will help candidates fill their applications easily and take the right decision during the counselling process.

According to the Ministry of Health, these tutorial videos provide detailed explanations of the registration and selection process on the MCC portal. This helps candidates understand each stage of counselling, make informed decisions and complete their applications smoothly.
