Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while extending his greetings to pilgrims on the occasion of the Shri Amarnath Yatra, urged them to take five vows. He said that the Shri Amarnath Yatra, associated with the darshan of Baba Barfani, is an eternal chapter in India's spiritual tradition and cultural unity.
The Prime Minister said on the social media platform X that he wishes all Shiva devotees a safe and auspicious journey. He also shared a letter to the devotees on the occasion.
In the letter, the Prime Minister said that participating in the sacred Amarnath Yatra is a privilege for pilgrims, and that millions of Shiva devotees visit Jammu and Kashmir every year to pay obeisance to Baba Barfani. He said that this pilgrimage symbolizes India's spiritual tradition, cultural unity, and unity in diversity.
The Prime Minister appreciated the contribution of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), health workers, administrative officials, sanitation workers and all those engaged in serving the pilgrims.
The Prime Minister also urged all the pilgrims going on the Amarnath Yatra to take some resolutions.
Let us follow the rules of cleanliness during the Amarnath Yatra and contribute in maintaining cleanliness throughout the Yatra route.
We must diligently follow all administrative orders, traffic rules, and safety instructions. During the journey, be especially careful about slippery conditions and cold conditions due to rain.
In the spirit of "Vocal for Local," we should use at least 10 percent of our travel expenses to purchase local products. This will also strengthen the livelihoods of families and youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Let us gift a sapling to our brother or sister on the concluding day of Baba Amarnath Yatra, i.e. on the occasion of Rakshabandhan and take forward the campaign 'One Tree in the Name of Mother'.
Let us perform our duties honestly throughout the year with the spirit of nation first and make our active contribution in building a developed India.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the Amarnath Yatra will be a grand celebration of India's eternal faith, tradition of service, and cultural unity. He prayed to Baba Amarnath for a safe, auspicious, and successful journey for all pilgrims.
