Koderma: The Neha Raj Murder Case — Koderma (Gajendra). On May 14, Neha Raj was murdered in the 'Mitco Colony' area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Koderma Police Station. The Koderma Police have successfully cracked this case. The individuals involved in this crime—including the deceased woman's husband, Shambhu Rana, as well as his cousin-uncle and cousin-aunt—have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. In this case, Shambhu Rana's cousin-uncle, Rohit Rana, and his cousin-aunt, Devanti Devi, are facing imprisonment on charges of murder; meanwhile, the deceased woman's husband, Shambhu Rana, has been arrested on charges of forcibly maintaining illicit relations with his aunt. The investigation revealed that Shambhu Rana had repeatedly engaged in illicit physical relations with his cousin-aunt, Devanti Devi. Upon discovering this fact, his cousin-uncle, Rohit Rana, was enraged; witnessing the physical exploitation of his wife, he resolved to seek revenge by targeting Shambhu's wife. Consequently, acting on a premeditated conspiracy, the deceased woman's husband's cousin-uncle and aunt arrived at her home on May 14, at a time when her husband had stepped out. Finding Neha Raj alone in the house, they attacked her. Initially, they attempted to kill Neha Raj by strangling her with a *dupatta* (scarf); however, realizing that she was still alive, Rohit Rana grabbed a knife found within the house, slit her throat, and murdered her. After committing the crime, both individuals fled the scene and returned to their own home. Following this incident, despite conducting a thorough search operation with the assistance of canine squads and forensic teams, the police initially failed to uncover any evidence. However, CCTV footage from a camera installed in Mitco Colony captured Devanti Devi and Rohit Rana arriving at and subsequently leaving the crime scene around the time of the incident. Acting on this crucial lead, the police tracked down the couple and arrested both of them in the 'Salaiya' area, located within the jurisdiction of the Koderma Police Station. While disclosing the details of the case, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kumar Shivashish stated that during intense interrogation, the arrested couple confessed to having committed the murder. Rohit Rana told the police that he was enraged by the illicit relationship—which had been forcibly established—between his wife and Shambhu Rana. Determined to exact revenge upon Shambhu's wife—identified as Neha Raj—he slit her throat in a fit of rage, killing her. The SP further stated that Rohit Rana and Devanti Devi have been sent to prison in connection with this murder case; meanwhile, Shambhu Rana—Martika's husband—has been sentenced to imprisonment on charges of maintaining an illicit relationship with his aunt.
