Former Olympic and world champion Neeraj Chopra will compete in the men’s javelin throw at the Lausanne Diamond League on 21 August.

The 28-year-old Indian athlete won the event in 2022 and successfully defended his title in 2023 before finishing runner-up in 2024.

However, the 2026 edition promises to be one of the strongest in recent years, with newly crowned Commonwealth Games champion and world leader Rumesh Pathirage leading the field.

Two-time world champion Anderson Peters, along with Olympic gold medallists Arshad Nadeem, Germany’s Thomas Röhler, and Trinidad and Tobago’s Keshorn Walcott, are also part of the line-up.

Lausanne will offer Chopra another opportunity to end his title drought.

The Indian has not won an international competition since the NC Classic in July 2025.
