The monsoon session of the state legislature is beginning in Mumbai from today. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed that a total of ten bills will be introduced in this session, including an important bill to give legal status to women farmers. He was speaking at a press conference organized in Mumbai yesterday against the backdrop of the session. Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar were present on this occasion.

The Chief Minister said that the bill will provide for official recognition of women farmers as farmers and provide them with a certificate to that effect.

He also clarified that issues of common interest will be given priority in this three-week session. He mentioned that the decision to waive farmers' loans was not taken against the backdrop of any election, but keeping in mind the interests of farmers.

Expressing concern over the decrease in rainfall in the state, the Chief Minister said that the intensity of rainfall is likely to increase in Konkan from June 23. However, since satisfactory rainfall is not expected across the state till the first week of July, he appealed to farmers to sow their seeds as per the government guidelines.

Talking about the boycott of the tea party organised by the opposition parties, the Chief Minister said that this opportunity could have been used for dialogue and deliberation. He also took a dig at the opposition for not raising any new issues in the press conference. He also claimed that the letter submitted by the opposition was prepared with the help of artificial intelligence, i.e. using Chat GPT.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed displeasure over the opposition boycotting the tea party program. Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar expressed the view that continuous dialogue between the ruling party and the opposition is necessary for the development of the state.
