Mumbai has been lashed by heavy rains since the arrival of the southwest monsoon. The continuous rains, which have been continuing since Wednesday morning, have disrupted normal life in the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an 'Orange Alert' for Mumbai and Palghar for the next three hours.

The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains and advised citizens to be alert.

Due to continuous rains, waterlogging has occurred in many parts of the city, affecting traffic at various places. In particular, waterlogging on the tracks at Dadar railway station has affected train services.

There have been reports of heavy waterlogging in other parts of the city due to overnight rains. Mumbai has recorded an average rainfall of 78 mm during this period. According to the Meteorological Department, conditions remain favourable for the advance of monsoon in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh, and more rain is likely in these states in the coming days.
