Monsoon has become active in the state and heavy rains are continuing in many parts. The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the Ghatmatha area of Pune district. While a yellow alert of rain has been issued for the Ghatmatha areas of Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Nashik and Satara districts.

Palghar district received heavy rains accompanied by strong winds overnight. Power supply has been disrupted in many parts of the district since yesterday evening. Keeping in view the intensity of the rains, a holiday has been declared for all schools in Palghar district today.

Due to heavy rains, some roads in the district have been submerged, affecting traffic. Western Railway services are running late and some trains have been cancelled.

Meanwhile, Tansa Lake, which supplies water to Mumbai, has started flowing at full capacity. Therefore, this is considered a relief for Mumbaikars.

The heavy rains continue in Kolhapur district as well, with 22 dams submerged due to heavy rains. Radhanagari dam is 85 percent full, and the administration is monitoring the water level in the dam area.

Citizens have been urged to remain vigilant in the wake of the rain and follow the administration's instructions.
