Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma today flag off 219 vehicles purchased under the Assistance to States and UTs for Modernization of Police Scheme at 3rd Battalion MAP Parade Ground, Mualpui.

The Chief Minister said that the total fund received from the Central Government Scheme, Assistance to States and UTs for Modernization of Police (ASUMP) is Rs. 44.53 Crore, of which Rs. 30.45 crore is used for vehicle purchase and the rest is used for police equipment purchase. He said that the central government has banned the purchase of vehicles from ASUMP since 2017 yet the action plan submitted by the Mizoram government last year was approved.

Pu K. Sapdanga, Home Minister also spoke and thanked Mizoram police for their efforts. We know that the strengthening of our police force is the strengthening of our national security and the welfare of our society. We are trying to improve, he said.
