A mild earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale was recorded around 5:00 PM on June 8 in the Surla, Godhani, and Kegaon areas, located at the foothills of the Navargaon project in Yavatmal district.

According to the district administration, no loss of life or property has been reported due to the earthquake. Citizens have been urged not to panic, given the low intensity of the tremor.

The district administration and disaster management agencies are continuously monitoring the situation; the administration has also clarified that citizens should neither believe nor forward any rumors or unverified messages.

The administration has issued guidelines advising people to remain calm if tremors are felt. If inside a building, one should seek safe shelter under a sturdy table or desk, or against an inner wall; avoid using elevators; and exit safely once the shaking stops.

Citizens have also been urged to check household electricity, gas, and other appliances, and to follow official instructions during emergencies.

The district administration has stated that citizens should contact the District Disaster Management Cell or the Police Control Room for any emergency-related information.
