Ranchi: Student protests have intensified in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, against alleged irregularities in the JPSC-JSSC recruitment process. Thousands of students have taken to the streets to surround the Vidhan Sabha and their march towards the Vidhan Sabha has begun.

During the protest, the students reached the first barricade on Vidhan Sabha Road. At some places, the protesters tried to remove the barricades and move forward. After that, the administration has tightened security on Vidhan Sabha Road.

According to information received, more than 5 thousand students had gathered at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium area since night. After the number of students increased in the morning, they started a march towards the assembly.

Students demand CBI inquiry

The protesting students are demanding a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the JPSC-JSSC recruitment process. The students are firm in their demands and are trying to draw the government's attention through the assembly gherao.

BJP MLAs also support the movement.

Meanwhile, some BJP MLAs also supported the students' protest. The MLAs were sitting on a dharna in front of the Chief Minister's residence in support of the students. However, the police tried to remove them from there and keep the situation under control.

Tight security in Ranchi

In the backdrop of the student protest, strict security arrangements have been made by the police and administration in Ranchi. Barbed wire barricades have been erected in sensitive areas.

Six-tier security arrangements have been deployed on the assembly route and the situation is being constantly monitored through CCTV cameras. Section 163 of the IPC has also been invoked to maintain law and order.

The situation in Ranchi has become tense due to the student protests and the administration is closely monitoring the situation.
