DRDO has achieved a major success. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) demonstrated the country's multi-layered defence capabilities by conducting three consecutive successful flight tests on June 10 and 11, 2026.

During these trials, a multi-layered ballistic missile defence system was successfully tested against long-range ballistic missiles. Interceptor missiles successfully engaged their designated targets, showcasing India's capability to counter emerging missile threats.

With these successful tests, India has joined the select group of nations possessing a ballistic missile defence system capable of intercepting even Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs).

Additionally, the first successful test of a medium-range anti-ship missile developed for the Navy was also conducted. This missile is capable of striking enemy warships and other naval targets at sea.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO on this significant achievement, describing it as a step that gives a new boost to the country's defence capabilities.
