Strong winds that swept through Koyali Bk. in the Risod taluka of Washim district on Thursday evening caused extensive damage, including the destruction of the home of Raju Mahadu Wankhade, a smallholder farmer.

Around 6 PM, powerful winds blew off approximately 40 sheets of roofing from the house. Additionally, 20 sacks of wheat stored inside were ruined after getting soaked by the rain.

Raju Wankhade, who relies on two acres of farmland for his livelihood, lives with his wife. Their household depends entirely on agricultural income, and the storm has caused severe damage to their home. With the roof blown off, the family has been left without shelter, and the grain stored for the year has been destroyed.

The Wankhade family has urged the administration to immediately inspect the site and provide compensation. They have also requested the Sarpanch, Gram Sevak, and Talathi to conduct a damage assessment (*panchnama*) and facilitate government assistance.

Meanwhile, crops belonging to many farmers in Koyali Bk. and the surrounding areas have also been affected by the stormy winds. Villagers have demanded that the administration promptly assess the damage and announce relief measures for those affected.
