The situation in Kerala has become critical due to continuous heavy rains and floods. So far, 15 people have died and eight are missing.

A total of 11,018 people have been safely shifted to 316 relief camps in the state. As per preliminary estimates, 164.98 hectares of agricultural land has been damaged, affecting 3,596 farmers.

The government has announced an immediate financial assistance of Rs 10,000 for the funeral of the deceased. In addition, families returning home from flood relief camps will also be given an immediate assistance of Rs 10,000.

The Chief Minister said that a total compensation of Rs 8 lakh will be given to the relatives of those who lost their lives in this disaster; this will include Rs 4 lakh from SDRF, Rs 2 lakh from CMDRF and Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF.
