The Central Government has intensified preparations to make the NEET UG 2026 counseling process more transparent, secure, and candidate-centric. While reviewing the counseling system, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda directed officials to ensure the entire process is conducted smoothly and fairly using technology, so that no candidate faces any inconvenience. During the review meeting, the preparedness of the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) was assessed in detail. The Union Health Minister emphasized that the convenience of candidates must be the top priority at every stage of counseling and that all possible measures should be taken to address their queries and concerns.

It is noteworthy that several significant reforms have been implemented this year to make the counseling process more student-friendly. These include a provision for one-time physical reporting, online document verification, and enhanced, accessible facilities for candidates with benchmark disabilities. The objective of these reforms is to make the counseling process simpler, more transparent, and time-bound. According to the Ministry of Health, these changes will make the NEET UG 2026 counseling process more streamlined, transparent, and candidate-centric, thereby ensuring a smoother and more reliable admission process for medical colleges.
