The broad interim agreement requires the United States, Iran and their allies to immediately and permanently halt military operations across all fronts, including in Lebanon.

However, Israel, which was not part of the negotiations, has stated that it is not a party to the agreement. The Israeli military said its forces in Lebanon retain the freedom to act against threats and will continue operating in line with directives from Israel’s political leadership.

Israeli Army spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin said the military would continue to remove threats in accordance with existing agreements.

He said Israeli forces operate beyond the “Yellow Line” and the forward security zone to address security threats while respecting the agreements in place. Defrin added that operations in Beirut and other parts of Lebanon are being conducted under current directives and would continue unless new instructions are issued by the political leadership.
