The Indian Navy launched DSC A24, the fifth and final vessel under the Diving Support Craft Project, at Titagarh in West Bengal, marking the completion of the five-ship programme aimed at strengthening the Navy’s underwater operational capabilities.

Featuring a catamaran hull and a displacement of 300–400 tonnes, the vessel offers enhanced stability, improved sea-keeping, a larger deck area, and advanced diving systems for operational diving missions.

The induction of these ships will strengthen the Indian Navy’s diving support, underwater inspection, salvage, and coastal operations. With nearly 70 percent indigenous equipment, the craft support the Government of India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives.
