The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a comprehensive national weather outlook predicting an active spell of monsoon precipitation across several states in North, Central, and West India. The intensified rainfall activity is being driven by active synoptic weather systems that are projected to bring consistent showers to urban centers, agricultural belts, and hilly terrains over the next few days.
In the national capital, Delhi is expected to experience a generally cloudy sky accompanied by periods of light rain or intermittent drizzle. Meteorological readings recorded a minimum temperature of 28°C in Delhi, which stands one degree above the seasonal average for this period, while maximum temperatures are forecasted to settle near 34°C.
Regional Precipitation Outlook for Northern Plains and Uttar Pradesh
According to IMD forecasts, the northern agricultural plains will witness structured rain spells. Punjab, Haryana, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh are slated to receive fairly widespread to widespread rainfall on August 14 and 15, with scattered showers continuing thereafter.
West Uttar Pradesh is projected to record widespread rainfall activity on August 15 and 16, following earlier spells across eastern parts of the state. Civic and agricultural bodies across these regions have been advised to track local weather developments to manage localized drainage and standing crop needs.
Active Monsoon Activity Across Himalayas and Western Regions
The western Himalayan region is braced for a sustained wet spell. Regular and widespread precipitation is expected across Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir until August 19. Local authorities in high-altitude zones have emphasized precautionary vigilance along riverbanks and landslide-prone mountain highways due to risks of landslips and sudden runoff.
In Western India, monsoon activity will maintain its momentum. Regional forecasts indicate that Marathwada, Saurashtra, and Kutch are likely to experience isolated to scattered rainfall through August 19, providing essential soil moisture for ongoing agricultural operations across rain-fed agrarian tracts.
