US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor met Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal in New Delhi today. These high-level discussions have been organized with the aim of finalizing the framework for the India-US bilateral trade agreement.

Both nations had prepared a broad framework for the trade agreement in February. However, subsequent changes in US tariff policies necessitated some modifications to this framework, and discussions regarding these adjustments are currently underway.

Both sides have set a target to conclude discussions on the interim framework by tomorrow, the 24th.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal stated that India is keen to advance these discussions, noting that the agreement would create new economic opportunities for both nations and further strengthen the bilateral economic partnership.

Sergio Gor also expressed confidence that the discussions would yield positive results.
