High alert for Bihar bandh; Security tightened at Patna junction

Security arrangements have been tightened across the state in the wake of the 'Bihar Bandh' called by student organizations. Anticipating potential protests and law-and-order issues, the Bihar Police Headquarters has issued a 'high alert.' Police officials in all districts have been instructed to remain extra vigilant and ensure additional security measures at sensitive locations.

In the capital, Patna, the area around Patna Junction resembles a police cantonment due to the shutdown. A large police force has been deployed at key locations, including the railway station premises and entry-exit points. Additionally, personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and district police are jointly monitoring security.

Railway Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishna Murari Prasad personally inspected the Patna Junction area to review security arrangements. He instructed police officers and personnel to remain highly alert at sensitive spots and to respond immediately to any untoward incident.

The police administration stated that the movements of anti-social elements are being closely monitored. Thorough checks are being conducted in and around the station premises, with intensive screening of suspicious individuals and luggage. Additional police forces have also been deployed to ensure effective security.

SP Krishna Murari Prasad clarified that while peaceful protest is a democratic right, strict legal action will be taken against those who take the law into their own hands, damage public property, disrupt traffic, or attempt to disturb the peace. He firmly stated that immediate arrests would be made in such cases and no one would be spared.

The police administration has appealed to the public to ignore rumors, maintain peace and restraint, and immediately inform the police about any suspicious activity. Officials also assured that adequate security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order.
