Heavy rains in Palghar district for the last two days have led to flooding in many areas. Many villages in Dahanu, Talasari and Palghar talukas have been cut off, disrupting normal life.

Relief and rescue operations are being carried out in the flood-affected areas in coordination with the district administration, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), fire brigade, local bodies and villagers. Hundreds of citizens have been safely rescued due to these joint efforts. The administration is closely monitoring the situation and providing assistance where necessary.

Meanwhile, although the rains have eased somewhat in Nashik district, the Godavari river remains in flood condition. Around 19 thousand cusecs of water is being released from the Godavari riverbed, while 94 thousand 497 cusecs of water is being released from the Nandur-Madheshwar dam.

Flood water has entered the villages of Saikheda and Chandori in Niphad taluka, and thousands of hectares of agricultural land have been submerged. Citizens living along the riverbanks have been warned to be alert, and the administration is taking necessary measures.

In Pune district, there is also a continuous flow of rain, and the water storage in the dams has increased. A large amount of water has been released from the Khadakwasla and Pawana dams. The administration has appealed to the citizens of the riverside areas to take precautions.

The disaster management system has been kept ready after reviewing the rainfall situation in various parts of the state. Rescue and relief work is underway, prioritizing the safety of citizens.
