The Maharashtra government has coordinated with all the concerned government departments and banks through a special portal developed by it for farmer loan waiver. All the verification process for loan waiver has been completed and the first list of eligible farmers has been published on July 25.

State Cooperation Commissioner Deepak Taware informed at a press conference held in Pune yesterday that the loan waiver benefits will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Taware said that if a farmer's name, Aadhaar number or bank account information is missing, the concerned farmer can file a complaint on the government portal.

The Cooperation Commissioner also informed that the complaints received will be sent to a committee of district level officers. This committee will examine the complaints and provide a satisfactory reply in writing to the concerned farmers.

He explained that this digital system has been developed to ensure that farmers get the benefit of loan waiver in a transparent and easy manner.
