Dramatic Weather Shift Across North India

The National Capital will see thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds by evening today, as the IMD warned of significant weather activity sweeping across the Capital in the wake of a western disturbance moving in from the West.

The stormy conditions are likely to bring some relief, with the report noting that maximum temperatures could drop to between 35-37°C.

Hailstorms are also forecast over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and parts of Uttar Pradesh, while dust storms are likely across Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, the monsoon continues to drive heavy rainfall across the northeast and southern coast. The report forecast very heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim, and heavy showers over Kerala, coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
