Delhi Police has alleged that the protesters behaved unruly, aggressively and violently during the Cockroach Janata Party protest in New Delhi yesterday. According to the police, some protesters deliberately violated prohibitory orders despite repeated instructions and warnings.

According to Delhi Police, during the protest, some protesters pelted stones and other objects at the police. They also tried to break the barricades erected by the police. Apart from this, around 15 to 20 vehicles of the police and other government departments were vandalized and a large amount of public property was also damaged, the police said.

The Delhi Police said that these violent incidents have created a threat to public order and posed a serious threat to the safety of police personnel on duty. More than 118 police personnel, including senior officers and women police personnel, have been injured in the incident.

Following the incident, the police have taken action and detained around 70 protesters, and have said that the process of registering cases in the relevant cases is underway.

Meanwhile, the police have also filed an FIR in connection with the violence that took place in the Connaught Place area of Delhi. The first information report has been filed against unknown persons in connection with the alleged stone-pelting and vandalism of police vehicles during the protest in the Regal Cinema area.

In this backdrop, security has been tightened in the capital Delhi, with additional police deployment in sensitive areas. The police have appealed to the citizens to maintain peace and not believe in any rumours to maintain law and order.
