Congress today held protests in various districts of Chhattisgarh and surrounded the offices of the Electricity Department to protest the increase in electricity tariffs. Congress leaders and workers surrounded the Electricity Department office in Daganiya, Raipur and raised anti-government slogans against the increased electricity tariff, rising inflation and the rising prices of petrol, diesel and LPG. In Janjgir too, workers took out a rally and raised slogans at the main entrance of the Electricity Office. Similarly, the Electricity Office in Bilaspur was also surrounded. During these protests, minor clashes broke out between Congress workers and the police.
