Britain has expressed concern over the deaths of civilians and the alleged crackdown on protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Voices in Britain have grown louder regarding human rights violations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). British MPs have expressed concern over the deaths of citizens and the alleged crackdown on protesters in the region. They have urged the British government to raise this issue directly with Islamabad. The MPs sought a response from the Pakistani High Commissioner and also raised the matter with Lord Ahmad (Minister for the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Pakistan).

Labour MP Andrew Gwynne stated that he would take the issue of human rights in PoK to the highest levels of government and would not remain silent on the matter. During the meeting, some MPs and attendees also demanded the imposition of 'Magnitsky-style' sanctions on Pakistani officials accused of serious human rights violations. Such sanctions would enable the freezing of assets and travel bans against the individuals concerned.
