While addressing a public rally at Hingalganj in West Bengal, Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah commented on the voting that took place during the first phase of the Assembly elections. He asserted firmly that the first phase of voting, covering 152 seats, has now concluded; and out of these 152 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party is poised to secure victory in 110, thereby placing itself in a position to form the government in the state.

Amit Shah declared that the Congress and Mamata Banerjee would be completely "routed" this time around. Infusing enthusiasm among the party's workers and supporters, he stated that a change in Bengal is inevitable this time, and it is evident that the BJP is receiving strong support from the public.

The Home Minister further added that the party's organizational strength in the state has grown significantly, and the public is voting in favor of change. This statement by Shah is being viewed as a sign of the BJP's growing confidence amidst the current electoral atmosphere.
