In a major organizational announcement ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on September 17, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) revealed plans on Saturday, August 22, 2026, to conduct a month-long nationwide public outreach initiative titled 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan'. Announcing the decision in New Delhi following a high-level national workshop of party office-bearers, BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde outlined that the campaign will run through October 7, 2026. The date holds historic significance, marking exactly 25 years since Narendra Modi first assumed public office upon taking oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001.

The primary objective of the month-long drive is to highlight the Prime Minister's commitment to public welfare while actively mobilizing citizens, particularly the youth, into grassroots community service. As part of the outreach, party volunteers across India will visit more than 14 lakh Anganwadi centers to felicitate Anganwadi workers under the 'Anganwadi Samman and Matru Samvad' program, acknowledging their vital role in grassroots child nutrition and maternal care. Furthermore, a campaign titled 'Seva Mein Mera Yogdan' will encourage young citizens to undertake local community service—such as tree planting, cleanliness drives, and assisting in the national TB eradication mission—and share their experiences via digital video reels to inspire broader civic participation.

Block-Level Implementation and Welfare Coverage Drive

A central component of the campaign is the 15-day 'Seva Setu Abhiyan', designed as an intensive administrative outreach exercise at the block level. Under this initiative, officials from various government departments will set up special camps equipped with necessary documentation tools to assist eligible citizens who have been left out of flagship welfare programs, including the Ayushman Bharat health card scheme.

To foster problem-solving skills among students and young professionals, the BJP will also host a 'National Innovation Challenge' across major states, encouraging youth to research and propose innovative solutions to local socio-economic issues.

Organizational Roadmap and Strategic Preparation

The execution of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' will follow a multi-tiered organizational framework. Following the central orientation meeting in New Delhi, the party will conduct state-level planning workshops by August 31, followed by district-level and block-level briefings over the subsequent week.

Seven-member coordination teams—comprising state ministers and organizational secretaries—have been constituted across states to oversee local implementation. In addition to community service drives, the party plans to organize digital photo exhibitions titled '25 Years of Narendra Modi' and host good governance seminars with intellectual groups, anchoring its political messaging around public service and grassroots development.
