BJP leader Narottam Thakur cornered the government over the poor condition of Manikaran road, impact on tourism and the economic condition of the state.

In Kullu, BJP state executive member Narottam Thakur accused the Congress government and MLA Sundar Singh Thakur of falsely transferring credit for roads being built under the 'Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana' (PMGSY). He said that the central government is providing funds for rural road construction, yet Congress leaders are misleading the public by portraying it as a success of the state government. He also claimed that 17 roads in Kullu assembly constituency have been sanctioned due to the efforts of Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut.

Narottam Thakur also expressed concern over the poor condition of the road in the Manikaran valley. He said that the Bhuntar to Manikaran road is in a very bad condition, which is causing immense hardship to tourists and adversely affecting the tourism industry. He urged the government to prioritize the road improvement work.

Accusing the state government of financial mismanagement, the BJP leader said that the Congress government has failed to fulfill its election promises and the debt burden on the state is constantly increasing. He also claimed that the state's financial condition is worrisome and the promises made to the people have not yet been fulfilled.
