Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal informed an inter-ministerial conference today that India has immediately lodged a strong protest with the US following an attack on the vessel MT Cetebello near the Strait of Hormuz.

He clarified that the attacks were reportedly carried out by the US Navy, which is deployed in the region, and noted that the three vessels involved fly foreign flags and are not Indian-owned.

Meanwhile, Aparna Sharma, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, stated at a press conference that the country's overall fertilizer stock is in a satisfactory state, with current availability across the nation standing at 51 percent.

She also mentioned that long-term agreements regarding the supply of raw materials and finished fertilizers are helping to stabilize the supply chain.
