A Mozambican ship carrying LPG through the Strait of Hormuz has been attacked in Iranian-controlled waters. There were 28 Indian crew members on board the ship. However, all the crew members are safe, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told the media in New Delhi.

The Ministry of External Affairs has clarified that the Indian government is monitoring the incident and that the safety of Indian citizens is given top priority.

Meanwhile, India has reiterated its position on the Indus Waters Treaty. The treaty will remain suspended until Pakistan stops supporting cross-border terrorism, said External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.

Jaiswal dismissed allegations by some Pakistani media outlets that India deliberately created the flood situation. He explained that the recent increase in the flow of the Chenab river is a direct result of the heavy rains that have hit Jammu and its surrounding catchment areas this week.

The Ministry of External Affairs also noted that India has always managed water in a responsible and transparent manner, and that attempts are being made to misrepresent incidents related to natural conditions.
