Anti-paper leak bill taken up in Upper House

The Upper House has taken up the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 for consideration and passing.

The bill was passed in the Lower House on July 29. Speaking on the bill, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh said that this Bill is a reaffirmation of the Government’s commitment to safeguard the welfare of the students and youth of this country.

He stressed that the Government has fulfilled long-pending proposal for National Testing Agency.

Meanwhile, The Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026 was passed in the Lower House. The Rajya Sabha had earlier passed the bill on July 29.

The proposed legislation seeks to give Vande Mataram the same statutory protection as the National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana.
