The interim agreement signed between US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has drawn sharp contrasting views. The 14-point deal extends a ceasefire in Lebanon and other areas for 60 days to allow for talks on a permanent solution and to address issues such as Iran's nuclear program.

The key component of the agreement is the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of the maritime blockade on Iran. US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that a 60-day timeframe has been set for this entire process, which began on Thursday. He also clarified that he himself will lead the US team.

While agreement remains to be reached on many complex issues, experts believe a final solution may be difficult to reach within 60 days. For now, the Trump administration says it is prepared to temporarily lift sanctions on Iran without congressional approval.
