A significant and historic decision was taken in today's meeting of the Yogi cabinet. The name of 'Jalalabad' in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh has now been officially changed to 'Parashurampuri'. The government explained that this decision was taken in response to the long-standing demands of local people's representatives and keeping in mind the religious and cultural identity of the area.

Jalalabad is considered to be a part of the faith and traditions associated with Lord Parashurama. After the cabinet approval, the formal administrative process of changing the name has been initiated. Soon, the name 'Parashurampuri' will be used in place of 'Jalalabad' in all records, maps and government documents. Now, Jalalabad in Shahjahanpur is all set to carve out its new identity as 'Parashurampuri'.
