The world famous Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra began in Puri, Odisha today amidst devotional atmosphere. Thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad participated in this historic yatra despite heavy rains.

During this Rath Yatra, Lord Jagannath, along with his sister Goddess Subhadra and brother Lord Balaram, rides in grand chariots and departs for the Gundicha temple. They stay in this temple for nine days. After that, Lord Jagannath returns to the main temple.

The Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri is considered one of the major religious and cultural traditions of the country. Lakhs of devotees have arrived in Puri for this yatra, and special preparations have been made by the administration in terms of security and management.

Meanwhile, the Rath Yatra also began at the famous Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Union Minister Amit Shah performed Mangala Aarti and participated in the Yatra.

President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have extended their greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra. The President expressed in his message that by the grace of Lord Jagannath, the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the country and its people will continue to increase.

The Prime Minister, in his greeting message, has also prayed that the blessings of Lord Jagannath will bring happiness, health and prosperity to everyone's lives.
