The US and Iran launched attacks on Saturday, targeting each other's infrastructure and military bases, amid escalating conflict over the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iran has announced its withdrawal from the agreement reached with the US nearly a month ago.

According to Iranian media, Kazem Gharibabadi said that talks between the two countries were ongoing, but the US itself has violated the agreement, so Tehran will no longer abide by its terms.

Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei also called Trump's memorandum of understanding useless in a written statement. The agreement, reached after weeks of military tensions between the two countries, had raised hopes for broader talks.

The agreement has become virtually ineffective in recent days following renewed attacks and escalating tensions between the two sides. Last week, US President Donald Trump also said he believed the ceasefire with Iran was over.
