During the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 organized in New Delhi on August 19, 2026, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a high-level roundtable meeting with chief executive officers and prominent business leaders from leading Japanese corporations. The prestigious investment summit was also attended by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Expressing his gratitude to Japanese investors for demonstrating strong enthusiasm toward investing in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the enduring partnership between India and Japan is firmly rooted in shared economic growth, technological innovation, and mutual prosperity. He highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, transparent policy frameworks, and decisive governance reforms, Uttar Pradesh has rapidly transformed over the past nine years to join the top three state economies in India, emerging as a vital growth engine for national development.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath further remarked that while Japan possesses decades of sophisticated industrial expertise and advanced manufacturing technology, Uttar Pradesh offers a vibrant, skilled, and dynamic young population ready to absorb and scale these advancements. Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw noted that India's robust economic growth is receiving global recognition, driven by accelerating economic activities that foster sustainable development, generate substantial employment opportunities, and deliver developmental benefits across all social strata. Minister Vaishnaw extended a warm invitation to Japanese industry leaders to invest heavily in India, specifically highlighting Uttar Pradesh's business-friendly ecosystem. Concurrently, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that the Central Government is making targeted efforts to ensure research and technological innovations directly benefit local farmers, affirming that Uttar Pradesh holds immense agricultural and industrial potential as a premier global investment hub.

Groundbreaking Ceremonies and Strategic Economic Cooperation

The inauguration of the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 was marked by the groundbreaking ceremonies for two major industrial projects, during which prominent business conglomerates from both nations recognized Uttar Pradesh as an emerging global hub for manufacturing, strategic investment, and job creation.

Running from August 18 to August 23 across various locations in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, the week-long investment meet has brought together over 200 Japanese industrialists, chief executives, business delegates, and key policymakers, laying down a strong, long-term foundation for bilateral industrial collaboration.
